Project save Kabita Kabita Chhetri (name changed) is a native of Manthali a small town in the Ramechhap district of Nepal. Now (2020) she is in her 20s lives in Ratnapark Old Bus stand. She has a small room that is also a hotel provided for her to bring customers and to sleep at night. She does not remember when she was brought to Kathmandu but She remembers she came to Kathmandu with her sister-in-law but later as her sister-in-law eloped, she remained alone then the hotel provided shelter for her and she began to work as a sex worker in the street of Ratnapark. She said she has schooling siblings and she needs to earn for them. She told her family borrowed money to purchase gold and buffalo but still, they are not able to pay that money so that she needs to look after her family debt also.

Kabita said, “this occupation is not easy and good” but still if she stops working, the hotel owner will not give her a place to stay. Kabita told many times she was beaten by her client and robbed on her way by loafers. She narrated how one man put itching powder that caused her to suffer for a long time and need to spend a lot of money to cure.

She is interested in tailoring and wants to leave the sex market. But she does not know how to start and who will help her to come out of this bondage.
